Featured Articles quickly become the talk of the town, so it is important to vote.

Featured Articles represent the best work on the wiki, and are featured on the Main Page each month for all to see. We're voting for November's FAs now. You can vote too!

When voting, please type the name of your article under its section (for example, Aerosteon would be placed under Featured Animal, Protosalvinia would be placed under Featured Plant, etc.) in a Heading 3 (unless your article has already been selected, in which just put your vote there). Under that, state why you think the article should become featured. Don't forget to sign!

Alternatively, you can oppose a nomination if you feel the right to do so.

Example:

Tyrannosaurus: Tyrannosaurus is a famous dinosaur, and the article is descriptive. Why not? Styracosaurus Rider 15:33, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think so. It has a lot of typos and we should let other, less famous dinosaurs take the spotlight first. Styracosaurus Rider 15:33, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

The criteria for voting:

  • IPs are not eligible to vote for the sake of fairness (in case some users try to sneak in an extra vote). Alternate accounts are also disqualified. If you make an account, however, you are welcome to vote as normal.
  • The article cannot be currently undergoing any edit wars/disputes.
  • Previously featured articles cannot be nominated again, however articles that didn't make the cut at first can be nominated again.

Now get voting!

Deinosuchus

Deinosuchus is a large article, and has plenty of references to go along with it. I think that it also explains the various size estimates well. Styracosaurus Rider (Speak to the Rider, your Lord and Master) {Look upon my servants} 01:12, November 3, 2011 (UTC)

I agree. Pinguinus impennis 23:32, November 3, 2011 (UTC)

Featured Plant

Featured Other

Nominate articles about continents, extinctions, and anything that does not fit into the above categories here.

Featured Animal

I think Glyptodon. It had a picture, a couple of sections, and a fair amount of writing - plus, it's not a dinosaur. Toothless99 17:51, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, it is well written and has lots of info Disney14ph12 18:53, November 28, 2010 (UTC)

Featured Plant

  • November 2010: Lepidodendron (default FA at wiki creation)
  • December 2010: Prototaxites (after a tie breaker by Google results)

Prototaxites is a pretty much unknown plant among the public, and the article is pretty good (and huge for a plant article at this time). I'm going with this. Styracosaurus Rider 18:26, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Featured Other

Looking round, Pangaea seems quite good. It has a picture. Toothless99 17:51, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

I agree on that, as it's an important part of prehistory. Styracosaurus Rider 18:26, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
