Restoration, with a sauropod in the background

Cronopio is a dryolestoid mammal of Cretaceous Argentina.

Cronopio had a long snout and long teeth, much like sabers. They lived about 100 million years ago.[1]

Cronopio was named in 2011, after fictional characters of an Argentinian writer.[2] One paleontologist noted its superficial resemblance to the character Scrat, from the movie series Ice Age.[3]
